Deficiency diseases are diseases that result from malnutrition .
Occasionally they have symptoms similar to a strong oversupply of the vitamin or substance. For example, both an over- and under-supply of vitamin B6 damage the memory .
- Beriberi or Beri-Beri is a disease caused by a long-term deficiency in vitamin B1 (thiamine).
- Night blindness is among other things due to lack of vitamin A triggered.
- Pellagra is a disease caused by a lack of vitamin B3 (niacin).
