The wind Simonsfeld AG owns and operates wind energy and photovoltaic systems in Weinviertel ( Lower Austria ), Bulgaria and Slovakia.
The company has been based in Ernstbrunn since 2014 .

The annual electricity production in 2016 was 380 GWh, which corresponds to the annual consumption of 108,000 households. At the end of 2016, Windkraft Simonsfeld had 78 wind power plants in Austria, two wind power plants in Bulgaria and, in addition to two photovoltaic power plants in Austria, also one in Slovakia. In Austria alone, the company had 46 employees at that time. Eleven more systems are planned for 2018 and six more from 2019.

history

  • 1996: On July 6th, 20 people found the company with the aim of building two wind turbines between Simonsfeld and Naglern.
  • 1998: On February 16, the "Simonsfeld I" wind turbine produces the first kilowatt hours of electricity , followed four days later by "Simonsfeld II".
    Start of project planning for the Hipples wind farm .
  • 2000: On June 19, the last of seven wind turbines in Hipples goes online . After the end of the second equity increase, 294 people will own the wind turbines in Simonsfeld and Hipples.
  • 2001: Participation in the Glaubitz wind farm in Saxony . Windkraft Simonsfeld acquires two of the total of twelve plants.
  • 2002: Windkraft Simonsfeld joins the project group “Windpark Steinberg -Prinzendorf” to build the wind farm “Steinberg-Prinzendorf”. Planning, project planning and building preparations are completed.
  • 2003: In January another increase in equity starts to finance the Steinberg-Prinzendorf wind farm. Construction begins in April and the official opening is in August. Windkraft Simonsfeld now has three wind farms of its own and supplies over 50 million kWh of electricity to the grid every year. By the end of August the number of shareholders increases to 605 people.
  • 2004: The new office building in Simonsfeld is opened.
  • 2005: Three new wind farms are built: Kreuzstetten wind farm with 10 wind farms, Poysdorf - Wilfersdorf wind farm with 9 wind farms and Rannersdorf wind farm with 4 wind farms. A total of 46 MW of power will be installed. In total, Windkraft Simonsfeld now operates 43 wind turbines with a total output of 71 megawatts .
  • 2006: Another capital increase is completed. The company is now owned by around 850 shareholders , most of whom (88%) come from the region.
  • 2007: Another seven wind turbines are put into operation in October. With an investment of EUR 17.5 million, the Kreuzstetten wind farm was expanded by two and the Poysdorf-Wilfersdorf wind farm by five wind turbines. Windkraft Simonsfeld operates 50 wind turbines with a total output of 84 megawatts.
  • 2008: In June, WKS Holding GmbH sells the two V 52 wind turbines in Glaubitz to WEB BG Deutschland GmbH. From June to September the Zistersdorf wind farm will be the first wind farm in Austria to be completely dismantled and 4 DeWind 48/600 wind turbines will be dismantled and reinstalled in Poland. In November, one plant will be built in the Kreuzstetten wind farm and six Vestas V90 wind farms in the Steinberg-Prinzendorf wind farm with an investment volume of 17.1 million euros. In December, a new project planning company was founded in Romania to develop a wind farm in the Banat, in the south-west of the country. Windkraft Resita srl ​​is 98.02% owned by WKS Holding GmbH.
  • 2009: The company originally founded as a GmbH & Co. KG is converted into a stock corporation.
    Two Vestas V90 2 MW wind turbines are put into operation in Neykovo, Bulgaria .
  • 2010: First capital increase by Windkraft Simonsfeld AG
    With the takeover of the management of 40 wind power plants in Austria, Windkraft Simonsfeld AG becomes the market leader in technical management in Austria.
  • 2012: installation of a photovoltaic system with 20 kWp peak power and standard capacity of 20,000 kWh in the town hall of Hollabrunn .
