Manios
Manios was a possibly Etruscan goldsmith in the 7th century BC. The only work that can currently be assigned to him is the Fibula Praenestina , which is also known as the Manios brace after its creator .
On the fibula praenestina there is the first early Latin inscription and thus the oldest surviving Latin language certificate that is currently known: MANIOS: MED: FHE: FHAKED: NVMASIOI . The inscription says “Manius made me for Numerius”, meaning that a goldsmith named Manios made this brooch for a later owner named Numerius.
