Mannerheimintie (Swedish: Mannerheimvägen , German: Mannerheimweg ; Mannerheimin = genitive of the name Mannerheim , tie = way) is a boulevard in the Finnish capital Helsinki named after the Finnish marshal and statesman Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim . The street was originally named Henriksgatan / Heikinkatu after Robert Henrik (Heikki) Rehbinder and was renamed after the Winter War .

The approximately 5.5-kilometer-long main street running from the square Erottaja in downtown with the Swedish Theater northwestward past the department store Stockmann , runs through the districts of Kamppi , Töölö , Meilahti , Laakso and Ruskeasuo and opens into the highway in the direction of Hämeenlinna and Tampere leads .

A number of famous buildings are located on or near Mannerheimintie: in addition to the theater and the department store, the Finnish Parliament building (Eduskuntatalo) , the main post office building, the Kiasma museum , the Finlandia Hall , the National Museum and the Helsinki Opera House . The Mannerheim Monument is one of the monuments along the Mannerheimintie . Helsinki Central Station is in the immediate vicinity of Mannerheimintie .
