Robert Henrik Rehbinder
Robert Henrik Rehbinder (born July 15, 1777 in Paimio , † March 8, 1841 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Finnish lawyer and politician.
Robert Henrik Rehbinder was State Secretary in the Grand Duchy of Finland from 1811 until his death . In March 1809 he played an important role in the drive for autonomy during the first Finnish Reichstag assembly in Porvoo .
In 1826 Rehbinder was raised to the rank of count. In 1840 the University of Helsinki made him an honorary doctorate in philosophy.
In 1936 Finland honored Rehbinder by issuing a special postage stamp. His autobiography, entitled “Souvenirs de ma vie”, is kept as a manuscript in the Finnish National Archives.
