Manfred Leuchter

Manfred Johannes Leuchter (born June 15, 1960 in Würselen ) is a German accordionist , composer, arranger and producer in the fields of world music , pop and jazz. He also mixes Afro-oriental sound structures with European classical and jazz .

At the invitation of the Goethe-Institut , Leuchter and his band went on concert tours through India, Romania, Morocco, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Palestine and Lebanon. He repeatedly plays with musicians from the Middle East (including Kinan Azmeh , Dima Orsho , Essam Rafea, Muslim Rahal, Jamal al Saqa, Feras Sharestan / Syria, Mohamed Najem / Palestine, Driss Maloumi / Morocco). As a guest of the Syrian ensemble Hewar , he also appeared in the Elbphilharmonie and the Pierre-Boulez-Saal in Berlin. He lives and works in Aachen and spent several years in Marrakech , Morocco.

Leuchter also works as a producer for various artists, such as Reinhard Mey , whose songs he has arranged and with whom he occasionally appears live on stage on the accordion or grand piano. He is also a composer of theater music .
