Mantelkirchen is a district of the municipality of Kirchdorf in the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim .

location

Mantelkirchen is located in the Hallertau about one kilometer east of Kirchdorf on the state road 2333 . Today as a unified district, Mantelkirchen actually consists of Untermantelkirchen in the west and Obermantelkirchen in the east.

history

In the traditions of Biburg Abbey , the noble free Karl von Mantelkirchen and his brother Gebino von Mantelkirchen are mentioned as witnesses in the 12th century. In 1987, Mantelkirchen had 75 residents.

Attractions

  • Filial church St. Petrus. The hall church with a pitched roof and three-sided choir closure was built around the beginning of the 17th century and changed to Baroque style in the 18th century. The choir flank tower with octagon and the pointed helmet date from the 19th century.
  • Hallertau Farm Museum. It was opened in 2005 and shows a lot of old farming tools and machines. Since 2007, hops have been hand-picked in the hop garden as in the past.
