Genevieve Cogman

Genevieve Cogman is a British fantasy novel and role-playing game writer .

Life

She has worked as a writer on In Nomine and GURPS by Steve Jackson Games , Orpheus and Exhalted by White Wolf and The Dresden Files by Evil Hat Productions, among others .

Her debut novel, The Invisible Library , first book in a series of the same name, was published in January 2015. The second book in the series, The Masked City, followed in December of the same year, the third volume, The Burning Page , was published in December 2016. In December 2017 the fourth volume, The Lost Plot, appeared . The Mortal Word was published as the fifth volume in December 2018. German translations of the first five volumes were published by Bastei Lübbe .

Numerous elements of fantasy literature such as steampunk , vampires , werewolves and magic are used in the series. It tells the story of the librarian Irene, who is looking for books in alternative realities for a mysterious library that exists outside of space and time.

Ace and Roc Books has acquired the rights to 3 more sequels.

Cogman has a Masters degree in Medical Statistics and lives in the north of England. She works for the National Health Service .
