Manu Tuilagi (born May 18, 1991 in Fatausi-Fogapoa, Savaiʻi , Western Samoa ) is an English rugby union player . He plays as the inner three quarters for the England national team and the Leicester Tigers .

childhood and education

Tuilagi grew up as the youngest of six brothers in a rugby family in Samoa. Four of his brothers, Freddie Tuilagi , Henry Tuilagi , Alesana Tuilagi and Anitele'a Tuilagi played for the Samoan national team . Manu already played in the U16 and U18 teams for England.

Career

Tuilagi first played for the Leicester Tigers in 2009. He won the English championship title in 2013 .

National team

Tuilagi made his national team debut against Wales in August 2011 and made his first attempt there. He was nominated for the following World Cup in New Zealand , was used in five games of the English and scored two attempts. In the first game against Argentina , he was 20 years and 115 days old, making him England's youngest World Cup player in history. In 2013 she joined the ranks of the British and Irish Lions . He was substituted on in the final game of the winning test series against Australia . In the following years he suffered numerous injuries, so that he only appeared twice for England between June 2014 and the Six Nations 2019 .
