Manuel Antonio Blas Sáenz

Manuel Antonio Blas Sáenz (* around 1800 in Rivas ) was President of Nicaragua for a few weeks in 1845 .

Life

In July 1842, under the Supremo Director of Nicaragua Manuel Pérez , Sáenz was involved with Dionisio Zapata in border negotiations with Costa Rica. In 1843 Senator Sáenz took the initiative to establish the Registro Oficial government gazette .

In the Guerra de Malespín , Silvestre Selva Sacasa was used by the occupation forces as Supremo Director of Nicaragua. Malespín entered León (Nicaragua), which had been besieged for a long time, on January 24, 1845, and his troops caused a massacre .

Blas Antonio Sáenz and José León Sandoval declared Masaya the seat of government of Nicaragua in early 1845 and formed a counter-government. When Malespín was overthrown in El Salvador , Silvestre Selva was able to escape from León.

The commander in chief of the Ejército Protector de Paz , José Trinidad Muñoz Fernández was resigned to the governorship of León and Sáenz broke on March 3, 1845 the peace treaty dictated by Malespín. In his speech at the opening of parliament on March 10, 1845, Sáenz called for a nationwide unit to be formed, which would ensure international respect, internal security, credibility and general agreement.
