Manuel Gutiérrez Martín
Manuel Gutiérrez Martín OMI (born January 1, 1913 in Fresno del Río , † July 24, 1936 in Pozuelo , Madrid ) was a Spanish Oblate of the Immaculate Virgin Mary .
He was a theology student at the Oblate Study House in Pozuelo ( Madrid ). He had already received the subdiaconate ordination. On July 22, 1936, as part of religious persecution in Spain, he and his confreres were taken prisoner in their own monastery. On July 24, 1936, he was executed along with six other Oblates .
The beatification of the 22 Spanish martyrs of the Oblates, including Manuel Gutíerrez Martín, took place on December 17, 2011 in the Cathedral of Madrid .
