Manuel Pichler

Manuel Pichler (born February 6, 1982 in Kufstein ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Manuel Pichler completed his football training at FC Kufstein starting at elementary school age. Pichler was regularly appointed to the Tyrolean team, later he also played for the ÖFB 's junior team .

In 1999 he moved to SV Wörgl for the first time ; Pichler experienced the 2000/01 season again at his home club in Kufstein, in order to finally make the leap into the first division in July 2001 ; here Pichler was able to successfully assert himself at SV Wörgl for four years. During this period, Pichler made 121 league games and scored 22 goals as a midfielder; Pichler received only 12 yellow cards in the 121 games and was never sent off with a red or yellow / red card. In 2005, the SV Wörgl rose from the first division.

This was followed by a return to FC Kufstein, which also played in the first division in the 2005/06 season, with 13 appearances and one goal, another bitter relegation to the Regionalliga West and various changes, including to neighboring Bavaria .

In his last season, 2008/09, Manuel Pichler played again for FC Kufstein in Regionalliga West, before he had to end his career due to a serious head injury that he suffered in a training match.

Pichler was an agile and fast left-footed player, an outstanding headball player, and at a young age he was already a prototype of the modern flank player who today shapes and dominates football.
