The Manulife Center is made up of two tall residential buildings and is located on the corner of Bay Street and Bloor Street in Toronto , Canada . The taller building is at 44 Charles Street and the smaller building is at 55 Bloor Street West. The two buildings are connected to a shopping center on the ground floor. There is a panorama restaurant on the top floor.

Construction work on the building began in 1972 and was completed in 1974. The building was built for the insurance company Manulife Financial and is still in operation today.

Today the building serves as a residential building and shopping center with shops and restaurants. The HiFi store Bay Bloor Radio, which was founded in 1946 and moved in shortly after the building opened, still operates its shop in the building today.
From the building there is underground access to several department stores and shopping malls along Bloor Street, as well as to Bloor-Yonge underground station .
