Mapoteng

Mapoteng is a place in the Berea District in Lesotho .
geography
Mapoteng is in the east of the Berea district. It is the center of the Mapoteng Community Council established in 2005 . The place is around 1700 meters above sea level on a plateau. A neighboring town is Hobson's.
history
A political group outside of the chief system, the Lekhotla la Bafo (roughly: "Council of the common people"), was founded by the Lefela brothers in Mapoteng in 1919.
Infrastructure
Mapoteng has a 160-bed hospital, founded in 1951 and run by the Seventh-day Adventists , and a high school . Roads lead southwest towards Teyateyaneng and northwest towards Maputsoe , but not into the Maloti Mountains to the east . Only a branch to Ha Moletsane leads east.
