Blanca María Díaz Martínez (born September 26, 1968 in Santiago de los Caballeros ) is a Dominican accordionist and singer .

As a child, Díaz founded her own band with her siblings, with whom she performed as an accordion player and singer. She then went to New York and worked there with Juan Robles , with whom she also lived for several years and had two children. When she returned to the Dominican Republic, she was known as La Reina among merengue friends and directed her own orchestra, for which she also composed and arranged. She was able to continue her successes from the USA here. She has released several albums, including María Díaz , La Reina Del Merengue Tipico , Canto A Mi Pueblo , Linea Merenguera and Que Vuelvas .
