María Estela Monti

María Estela Monti (born December 31, 1969 ) is an Argentine tango singer.

Monti took singing lessons from Flora Yunguerman , Leticia Caramelli , Laura Yusem , Celia Gontade , Daniel Di Pace , Liliana Cangiano and Alfredo Rosenbaum . From 1985 she was the singer of the group Suburbio , with whom she a. a. appeared on radio and television, at the Teatro Nacional Cervantes and at the Festival OTI de la Canción and recorded the albums Techos de Coghlan and Ciudad Vital . She has also performed with musicians such as Pablo Aguirre , Horacio Larumbe , Oscar Cardozo Ocampo , Bernardo Baraj , Domingo Cura , Horacio Ferrer and Raúl Lavié .

After separating from the Suburbio group in the mid-1990s, Monti increasingly turned to tango. In 1999 she founded the Trio Alma Bohemia , with whom she recorded the CD Alma en vivo . Since 2001 she has appeared as a soloist accompanied by guitarists Gustavo Fernández and Pepe Listorti . Her first solo album Ciudadana was released in 2003, followed by the album Ciudad Secreta in 2005 .
