María Paloma Muñiz de Urquiza (born August 5, 1962 in Gijón ) is a Spanish politician of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español .

Life

Urquiza studied political science and sociology. From 1989 to 1994 she was a lecturer in international public law at the Carlos III University in Madrid . After she was adviser on foreign policy, human rights and civil liberties in the European Parliament to the PES Group and the delegation for relations with Central America, she moved there as a MEP in 2009. Until the end of March 2012, she chaired the delegation in the EU- Chile joint parliamentary committee .
