Maria Vasco
María Vasco ( María del Monte Vasco Gallardo ; born December 26, 1975 in Barcelona ) is a former Spanish walker .
Vasco set several Spanish records in 5000 and 10,000 meters of track walking and in 5 km, 10 km and 20 km of street walking.
At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, she won the bronze medal in the 20 km walk behind Wang Liping (CHN) and Kjersti Plätzer (NOR). Vasco took seventh place at the 2001 World Championships , fifth at the 2004 Olympic Games and fourth at the 2005 World Championships .
At the 2007 World Championships Vasco won the bronze medal. At the 2008 Olympics , she was fifth.
She is 1.56 m tall and weighed 46 kg.
