Mar 'Ukban III
Mar 'Ukban III was the secular head of Babylonian Judaism .
He was a son of Nehemiah. After he died in 337, he took over the office of exile . Furthermore, Mar 'Ukban III was known as the hero Nathan de-Ẓuẓita . The conquest of Armenia in 337 under Sapor II is mentioned as an event during his reign. His advisers were Rabbah b. Nazmani (he died in 323) and Rabbi Adda. He is mentioned as Ukban ben Nehemiah, resch galuta in the Talmud . This Mar 'Ukban, the third exile of this dynasty, was also called Nathan. Mar 'Ukban's successor was Huna Mar Huna III, who in turn was succeeded by Mar' Ukban's son Abba.
