Mar Sutra (6th generation)
Mar Sutra (also Mar Sutra I. or Mar Zutra I .; Mar = Aramaic lord ; d. 417 ) was a Babylonian Amora of the 6th generation and lived and worked in the 4th and 5th centuries AD.
He was a friend and fellow student of Aschi . According to Scherira , Mar Sutra was head of the school of scholars in Pumbedita some time before his death, succeeding Kahana .
Mar Sutra died in 417.
