Marc Ant

Marc Ant (* 30th July 1961 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg business psychologist and management consultant with a focus on training management, organizational psychology, organizational Health Psychology and Management Training.

Marc Ant completed his high school in Luxembourg ( Athénée and Lycée classique de Diekirch) and spent a year as an exchange student at Brownsbourg High School (Indiana, USA). Marc Ant completed his first degree in education at the Institut Supérieur d'Etudes et de Recherches Pédagogiques (ISERP), which was integrated into the University of Luxembourg . He then qualified as a psychologist at the Universities of Heidelberg and Nancy II, specializing in the areas of differential / educational psychology ( Paul Dickes ) as well as industrial and organizational psychology.

He did his doctorate in 2004 with Peter Dehnbostel at the Helmut Schmidt University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg with a thesis on "The effects of competence balances on the self-esteem of the unemployed".

Professional background

From the beginning of his professional career, Marc Ant was active in the field of professional training and further education for companies and public institutions. Since 1993 he has been the first employee of the National Institute for the Promotion of Vocational Training (INFPC) in Luxembourg and in 1995 became head of the research and analysis department of the Leonardo da Vinci office of the European Commission in Brussels.

From 1999 to 2004 he worked as managing director of a Luxembourg-based and internationally active management consultancy that was active in the areas of further training, human resources management and applied business psychology.

From 2004 to 2016 Marc Ant was Professor of Communication and Business Psychology in the Department of Economics (Rheinbach Campus) at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. For several years he held the position of dean in this department and led or initiated several Bachelor and Master programs. He was also a visiting professor at the University of Luxembourg and the Kyungpook National University, Daegu (South Korea) and taught in several courses at the FOM in Luxembourg and at the Bonn Academy.

His teaching extends to the areas of business psychology, management and leadership, human resources management and communication.

At the same time, Marc Ant worked as a management consultant (training engineering, occupational health psychology) and management trainer for companies as well as for national and international institutions (advanced training institute of the Luxembourg state, ministries, professional chambers, European Investment Bank ).

Marc Ant has been managing the newly established competence centers for Luxembourg craft since 2016.

Teaching and Research

Ant is a recognized expert in the fields of training engineering, instructional design, curriculum development, promoting mental health in companies (occupational health psychology) and management training.

Among other things, he has developed curricula for training and further education measures (Bachelor and Master) for the Luxembourg and Polish ministries of education and has worked as a consultant in the establishment of various vocational training institutes and a private university. He worked as a psychologist and trainer for the European Investment Bank. In cooperation with the further education institute of the Luxembourg State (INAP), Marc Ant has designed a practice-oriented management training program with a focus on general and strategic management, project management, organizational behavior, leadership, human resources management, communication, CSR and ethics, in the implementation of which he is significantly involved was.

His field of activity in research is located in the area of social constructivism . He researches the practical areas of application of this epistemology in corporate and interpersonal communication, in management and leadership . He regularly participates as a keynote speaker and moderator at international conferences and congresses at home and abroad.

Marc Ant is Vice President Teaching & Innovation at the ISEC HdW School of Business / Institut Supérieur de l'Économie in Luxembourg.

Publications

Ant is the author of more than 130 scientific publications (18 of which are books) and was co-editor of the journal Basics of Continuing Education and the European Handbook of Continuing Education.
