The University

Institution of the university

ISEC University is run by ISEC AdW SA, a stock corporation under Luxembourg law founded in 2015, whose shares are held by the Chamber of Commerce (Chambre de Commerce) and the Chamber of Crafts (Chambre des Métiers) of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The aim of ISEC University is to complete the value chain of continuing vocational training in Luxembourg as well as in the Greater Region with a tertiary university education offering with sound theoretical principles and direct practical relevance.

Rectorate of the university

The rectorate manages the university and represents it internally and externally. It monitors compliance with the legal and statutory provisions and, above all, the separation of academy and administration as well as ensuring the university's autonomy. The rectorate decides on the strategic development plan of the university - including the range of courses, the main research areas and the university organization. It is also responsible for the university's examination and appointment system.

The founding rector of ISEC HdW is Prof. André Reuter . Prof. Marc Ant is Vice-Rector "Teaching & Innovation", Prof. Franz Peter Lang is Vice-Rector "International Relations", Prof. Kurt Reding is Vice-Rector Quality Management and Muriel Morbé is Administrative Director. Reuter, Ant and Reding left at the end of 2017.

The university's range of courses

The ISEC-HdW offers both independent courses with certificate degrees as well as bachelor's or master's degree programs. Internships and training in companies and organizations also enable the acquisition of ECTS credit points, which can be credited on a module-related basis.

Continuation of the educational offer of the eufom University

ISEC HdW is seamlessly continuing the educational offerings of the eufom University, which will no longer be active in Luxembourg from the 2016/17 winter semester.

Applied research

The connection to the chambers of the patronage ensures practical studies that are geared towards the needs of the economy without neglecting the theoretical foundation.

An important research focus of ISEC University is the topic "Intangible assets" - not to be confused with " Intangible Assets ". Together with the EIKV ( European Institute for Knowledge and Values Management ), in addition to the legal / tax law dimension, economic and psycho-social aspects are equally considered. The ISEC University of Economics researches on the one hand the economic recording and evaluation and on the other hand the legal protection of intangible assets (e.g. intellectual property , patents and brands , but also the knowledge of employees and quality of management ) with the aim of enhancing the competence of the university to increase in technical, economic and legal terms and to promote the transfer of scientific knowledge into business practice.

UmB conference series

Together with the EIKV, ISEC University is organizing the “University meets Business” conference series launched in 2002 by the European Institute for Knowledge & Value Management in Zurich under the motto “Practice-relevant science for medium-sized companies in a networked society”.

The aim of the conference series is to make the social relevance of university research visible and to make new scientific findings usable.
