André Reuter

André François Raymond Reuter (born January 27, 1947 in Luxembourg ) is a quantitatively oriented Luxembourg economist who specializes in teaching and research in information, knowledge and value management. Reuter is the founding rector of several universities and colleges.

education

André Reuter attended the primary school (École primaire) in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg and later the local high school Lycée de Garçons Luxembourg (LGL), where he passed his Abitur. After studying music in Luxembourg and Brussels, he studied economics and business administration at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Brussels and at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . He received his doctorate summa cum laude from the Alfred Weber Institute at Heidelberg University in 1977. His teachers included the MIT professors Carl Christian von Weizsäcker and Egon Sohmen as well as his doctoral supervisor Manfred Rose, at whose chair for finance Reuter was a research assistant for several years.

As a young lecturer in computer science at the University of Heidelberg, he accepted a research professorship in the USA and then switched to the “Theseus Institute for Innovation, Strategy and Information Technology” in Sophia Antipolis near Nice as a faculty member . Here Reuter's teaching mainly dealt with quantitative topics in micro and macroeconomics. In 2004 Theseus was merged with the Écoles des hautes études commerciales du nord (EDHEC). Reuter later returned to Germany. This was followed by a professorship for information management in the European Business Management department at the University of Applied Sciences in Worms . In 2012, he took on a senior professorship (English: distinguished senior professorship) for project management in the International Management / Trade Management department.

From 1973 to 1989 Reuter worked as a specialist journalist for various titles in the international business and daily press, including the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) and the Technische Rundschau (TR) in particular. In strategy consulting, his focus is on the convergence of information and communication in knowledge and value management. With his team of scientists and practical experts, Reuter develops its own methods and models to ensure the transparency of business processes as well as to record and evaluate intangible assets. Software systems designed and implemented by Reuter for online processing and control of business transactions are in use worldwide.

As an executive personal coach, Reuter advises personalities from business, art and politics. The concept of professional "European Relationship Management" he developed was introduced under his leadership by large companies throughout Europe.

Since the beginning of 2017, Reuter has been the managing partner of DTMD (Digital Technologies for Medicine and Dentistry) Sarl, which offers extra-occupational training measures for medical professionals and medical technicians.

Founding rector of colleges and universities

At the end of 2010, Reuter returned to the university and helped set up the state-recognized and accredited private eufom European University for Economics & Management Asbl, based in Luxembourg. After its official recognition by the Ministry of Higher Education in Luxembourg, Reuter headed the Luxembourg private university from May 2012 to December 2015 and then handed over the post of rector of eufom University to Franz Peter Lang in order to support the founding of the ISEC (Institut Supérieur de l ' Économie), a state-recognized and accredited private university of patronage. The carrier ISEC HdW are the Chamber of Commerce and the craft chamber of the Duchy. ISEC started its bachelor and master degree programs in autumn 2016.

At the end of September 2017, Reuter left the ISEC Hochschule der Wirtschaft in order to found the DTMD University for Digital Technologies in Medicine and Dentistry with colleagues Daniel Grubeanu and Ralf Rössler, based in Schloss Wiltz. The DTMD University is officially recognized as an "Institut de Formation Continue" (professional training). Reuter is President of the DTMD University Network with partner universities across Europe.

Reuter is the initiator of the “University meets Business” series of events, which was launched in 2002 by the European Institute for Knowledge & Value Management (EIKV, European Institute for Knowledge and Value Management ) in Zurich. Since then, the UmB conferences have been held regularly with various partners, including eufom University.

In university teaching and research, André Reuter now focuses on part-time studies with a focus on “quantitative economic theory” and information, knowledge and value management. He is Chairman of the Board of EIKV (European Institute for Knowledge and Value Management, European Institute for Knowledge and Value Management ) in Luxembourg and vice chairman of iperf (International Institute for Performance Management), also based in Luxembourg.

At eufom University, he initiated the research focus "Intangible assets", which he and Thomas Gergen continue to manage today at ISEC University.

Reuter is the editor of a series of economic publications and the EIKV series of publications that appear in the German Central Library for Economic Sciences at the Leibniz Information Center for Economics, and the author of several specialist books. He is also a regular keynote speaker and moderator at international conferences and congresses in Germany and abroad.
