Marc Jean Louis Fournier (pseudonym: Marc-Fournier , * 1818 in Geneva ; † January 5, 1879 in Saint-Mandé ) was a Swiss writer and theater director .

Life

Fournier studied in Geneva and then went to Paris in 1838 to work as a writer. He initially earned his living as a literary and critical employee of various magazines, for example he was an editor at Le Corsaire for some time . He later became an actor and in 1851 took over as director of the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin , which had just gone bankrupt. He managed it with luck and skill until the house went bankrupt again in 1868 . After a fairly luxurious life, his last years were more of a poverty line.

In 1844 he married the actress Delphine Baron (1828-1860), a sister of the French actor Vincent Baron .
