Marc Gettmann (born August 4, 1972 in Hameln ) is a German magician who became known to a wider public through appearances on television.

Career

After graduating from high school, Gettmann began studying law at the University of Cologne. In 2002 he passed the second state examination and briefly worked for a Cologne law firm before deciding on a career as a magician. Even during his studies he made minor appearances. He had his first TV appearance in 1998 on the RTL show Karls Kneipe with Karl Dall . He began to specialize in performing tricks that were based on pure dexterity. He also discovered his enthusiasm for mental magic , where he seemed to read the minds of the audience during the show. In doing so, Gettmann always made it clear that his mental shows in particular are based on explainable trick principles and are not supernatural phenomena.

Appearances for numerous other television stations followed (RTL, Sat1, WDR, Pro 7, ZDF and ARD). For Pro 7 he and his colleague Florian Severin created a series called Die Aussteiger , which offered an ironic look at mental magic. For television he was often interviewed as an expert on mental magic.

Marc Gettmann was a regular guest on Cologne's comedy stages and at the 2016 Comedy Festival. Since 2012 he has appeared regularly on the AIDA Cruises cruise ships .

  • 1998: 1st place in the field of mental magic in the German preliminary decisions of the Magic Circle of Germany in Ennepetal
