Marc Goos (born November 30, 1990 ) is a Dutch road cyclist.

Life

Marc Goos drove for the Dutch cycling team Jo Piels in 2010 . In his first year there, he finished ninth in the overall standings at the Flèche du Sud . A little later he won the individual time trial of the Tour de Berlin and was able to win the overall standings. He also won the overall ranking and a stage of the Mainfranken Tour .

He then moved to the Rabobank Continental Team in 2011 and won the overall ranking of the Vuelta a León . After riding for the UCI ProTeam Rabobank (cycling team) as a stagiaire in autumn , he finally switched to this team for the 2013 season, which was called Belkin that year and later Lotto NL-Jumbo .

During his time with this team he could not achieve any international success and only contested one Grand Tour with the Giro d'Italia 2014 , which he finished in 35th place . Goos, who broke his hip once in 2011, broke his wrist in 2013 and his collarbone in 2014 . He had an artificial hip joint inserted at his own expense at the end of 2015 and, according to his own statements, considered himself ready for use. However, the team management did not allow him to start in international races in 2016, as there was a 5.3 percent risk that a new operation would be necessary within five years, which is why the operation is not permitted in the Netherlands.
