Marc M'Bahia

Marc M'Bahia (born December 26, 1969 in Abidjan ) is a former Ivorian - French basketball player .

career

M'Bahia grew up in Abidjan, in 1985 he took part with the Ivory Coast national team at the African Cup and in 1986 in the World Cup in Spain . At the World Cup, the two-meter-tall inside player was the second best thrower in his team with 9.8 points per match.

From 1988 he played lower class in France and in 1991 moved to the first division club CSP Limoges . He stayed there until 1999. M'Bahia, who took on French citizenship, was national champion with Limoges in 1993 and 1994, winner of the European Cup in 1993 , cup winner in 1994 and 1995 and French runners-up in 1992 and 1998. One of the strengths of M'Bahias, which is quite small with two meters for the inside position, was the rebound, in attack he achieved his best average value during his time in Limoges in the 1993/94 season (8.2 points / game).

His departure from Limoges made headlines, there was a legal dispute between M'Bahia and CSP officials, including his former advisor Didier Rose, who accused each other of blackmail. M'Bahia has been awarded damages of around EUR 238,000.

In the 1999/2000 season he played for the Italian first division club Viola Reggio Calabria, 2000/01 for Lineltex Imola and 2001/02 again for Reggio Calabria. In 2002/03 he was part of the team from Telecom Portugal Lisbon, which became Portuguese champions in 2003.
