Marc Politze

Marc Politze (born October 20, 1977 in Hanover ) is a German water polo player and multiple German champion.

Life

Marc Politze started at SpVg Laatzen . From 1994 to 2002 he played for Waspo Hannover , with Hannover he won the German Cup in 1998. In 2001 and 2002, Politze was the top scorer in the water polo Bundesliga. In 2002 Politze moved to Berlin to join the German record champions Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 . He was named Player of the Year of the German Water Polo League in 2001, 2004 and 2005. In 2004 he was also named Best Scorer in the Champions League.

Politze took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , with the German team taking 5th place. At the 2005 World Water Polo Championships , the German team with Marc Politze finished 9th, in 2007 the team came 8th in 2003 and in 2008 the team was sixth at the European Championships. Politze has completed 407 international matches since 1997. Marc Politze announced his resignation from the national team in May 2013.

With the Wasserfreunde he won the German championship title in 2003 and in 2004 and 2005 the double of championship and cup. In 2006 the Spandau Cup winners were, after which in 2007, 2008 and 2009 the double again succeeded.

In 2010 Marc Politze went to Italy for one year in the best water polo league in the world. There he played at Posillipo Naples. In what was a very successful season for him, he finished 4th in Serie A with Posillipo.

Then he came back to Berlin. There he won the double from the German Water Polo Cup and the German Championship again in 2011, 2012 and 2014. After the Bundesliga season 2014, Marc Politze then declared his career end after 20 years in the men's division.

Politze is married to the former swimmer Melanie Stamm, the daughter of Hagen Stamm . You have two children.
