Marc Travels
Marc Reist (born August 4, 1960 in Grenchen ) is a Swiss sculptor and painter .
Reist grew up in Grenchen and moved to Schnottwil after training as a sculptor . There he has been working as a freelance sculptor, painter and graphic artist since 1983. From 1995 to 2010 he taught part-time at the School of Design in Bern. He exhibited in London for the first time as part of “Creative Switzerland 2000” at the Swiss Embassy in London . There he erected the large sculpture «Swiss Navigation» in the Mall Galleries . It was there that he met the gallery owner James Corless. Several participations in the exhibitions of the Blackheath Gallery in London followed.
Marc Reist deals in his sculptures and pictures with the connection between the microcosm and the macrocosm. The works have been created since 2008 from his «MULTISCALA» concept. In 2013 the art book Multiscala 2008-2013 was published . The photographs are by Emanuel Stotzer and the texts by Marie-Pierre Walliser.
