Marc Schütrumpf

Marc Schütrumpf (born May 31, 1972 in Solothurn , Switzerland) is a German director and film producer .

In 1992 he passed his Abitur in Waldkirch at the Geschwister Scholl Gymnasium. After his community service, he studied sports and English in Cologne, while working as a camera assistant in TV and film productions. During his subsequent film studies in Berlin, he made his first multi-camera productions with 16 mm film for the punk band "Die Ärzte", with whose bassist Rodrigo Gonzalez he produced several short films. In 2001 he was CVD and director of the rock / gothic show Schattenreich at the Cologne music channel onyx.tv. In 2004 he founded the film production company Feschfilm Entertainment, with which he realized DVD productions for Sting, Roger Cicero and Herbert Grönemeyer and from which the film production company Neoxfilm emerged in 2012. In addition to his live directing work, he produced concert shows and music DVDs for Neoxfilm for national and international artists such as Linkin Park, Coldplay and Depeche Mode. In 2012, the world's first opera premiere, Tristan und Isolde from Nuremberg, and the Bayreuth Festival were broadcast in over a hundred cinemas for the first time. Concerts by the bands Keane , Cro and the British soul singer Laura Mvula were also shown in cinemas around the world under his direction . As the only German director to date, he has worked for the Swiss Montreux Jazz Festival, where he filmed numerous jazz artists for the Montreux film archive EPFL in addition to Patti Smith, Queens of the Stone Age, Al Jarreau, Simply Red and Iggy Pop. In March 2020, shortly before the outbreak of the Corona crisis, he filmed their headlining show at the Hell & Heaven Festival in Mexico City on behalf of the American band MANOWAR, which was recorded in 8K and produced with 13 feature film cameras.
