Marcel Hattendorf (born March 17, 1969 in Stadthagen ) is a German manager , management consultant and author.

education

In 1988 Hattendorf graduated from the Ratsgymnasium in Stadthagen. From 1988 to 1990 he did his military service with the 7th Panzer Reconnaissance Battalion in Augustdorf , where he started the career of reserve officer . Today he is major in the reserve.

From 1990 to 1996 he studied business informatics at the University of Mannheim with a degree in business informatics. In Mannheim he joined the Corps Rheno-Nicaria . This was followed by an MBA from 1997 to 1998 at the Stuart School of Business (Illinois Institute of Technology) in Chicago / USA.

Employment

Since starting his career in 1999, he has worked for various management consultancies, including Arthur D. Little in Vienna , Volkswagen Consulting in Wolfsburg and Ernst & Young in the advisory department. With the help of a scholarship from Arthur D. Little, he did his doctorate at the University of Oldenburg from February 2001 to October 2002 on the subject of “Consultant criticism and knowledge management”.

He then worked at Volkswagen from 2004 to 2007 , first at Volkswagen Consulting in Wolfsburg as a key account and project manager in marketing and sales, then as personal assistant to the CEO of Volkswagen Group China and as head of the executive board secretariat in Beijing. From 2007 to 2012 he worked at Ernst & Young in the Advisory department and from 2012 to 2017 as Senior Project Manager at Porsche Consulting and MHP, Porsche's in-house consultancy. In June 2019 he returned to the Volkswagen Group and supports business process management there.

Activity in academic associations

Marcel Hattendorf is old man of the Corps Rheno-Nicaria Mannheim and the Corps Franco-Guestphalia Cologne. From January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2013, he was chairman of the board of the Weinheimer Verband Alter Corpsstudenten, the senior gentlemen's association of the Weinheim Senior Citizens' Convention (WSC).
