Marcel Mansat

Marcel Mansat (born December 7, 1924 in Lavaveix-les-Mines , Creuse , † September 30, 1996 in Puteaux , Hauts-de-Seine ) was a French football player .

Career

Mansat began playing football at a club from Puteaux near the French capital Paris ; from there he moved in 1945 to paid football for the first division club Stade Rennes . For Rennes, the midfielder, who was also used in defense, made his debut on August 26, 1945 in a 2-0 win against FC Rouen in the top French division and came from then on to regular appearances. In addition, he made the leap into the French B national team, even if he was denied the leap into the A team.

Mansat never changed clubs and was loyal to Rennes until he decided to withdraw from professional football after relegation in 1953; the then 28-year-old had previously played 169 top division games and scored seven goals. He then continued his career at the amateur club Arsenal Sports from Rennes.
