Marcela Britos

Marcela Britos , full name Marcela Valeria Britos (born February 26, 1985 in Maldonado ) is a Uruguayan athlete .

Career

The 1.67 m tall Britos starts in the sprint and middle distance running disciplines. She took part in the 2nd IAAF / Westel Youth World Championships 2001 in Debrecen , Hungary . In June 2004 she was behind Rejane Bispo Vice South American Champion at the U-23 South American Championships on the 800-meter course. As a participant in the cross-country South American Championships 2005 , she reached 14th place over 4 kilometers. At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , she also started. She was part of the Uruguayan squad at the 2006 South American Games in Buenos Aires. There she won the silver medal with a run time of 2: 09.0 min in the 800 meter run . In November 2006 followed again the 2nd place over 800 meters at the U-23 South American Championships . As part of the South American Athletics Championships in 2007 , she reached third place over 800 meters. In the same year, she is also listed as a participant in the World Championships in Osaka . She was a member of the Uruguayan Olympic team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics . In the games, she was eliminated in the run-up over 800 meters.

Britos is still co-owner of the Uruguayan U-18 national record with the Sweden relay (100-200-300-400 meters) today (as of June 15, 2015 ). She ran this with a time of 2: 24.50 min on October 20, 2002 at the South American Youth Championships together with the Uruguayan national relay team with Britos, Camila de Mello, Jessica Miller and Gabriela Giménez.
