Marcela Tedeschi de Araújo Temer (born May 16, 1983 in Paulínia ) is a Brazilian politician's wife . She is the former Primeira-dama . Her husband is the former Brazilian President Michel Temer .

life and work

Marcela Temer is the daughter of Carlos Antônio de Araújo and Norma Tedeschi. She grew up in what was then the small town of Paulínia in the state of São Paulo and attended a state middle school. She worked as a receptionist for the former newspaper O Momento . In 2002 she won her hometown contest and was named Miss Paulinio . As a result, she also took part in the state contest of São Paulo and became vice beauty queen. At an event of the Partido Movimento Democrático Brasileiro (PMDB) party, she met Michel Temer, then 62, at the age of 19 in 2002. They were married on July 26, 2003. In 2009 they both had a son.

In 2009, after attending the private college Faculdade Autônoma de Direito (FADISP), she received a Bachelor of Laws , the title of her written thesis was Fertilização In Vitro no Direito Brasileiro ( In Vitro Fertilization in Brazilian Law), but was unable to take her oral exam because of the birth of her son and did not practice a legal profession.

Her predecessor as First Lady of Brazil was Marisa Letícia Lula da Silva until August 31, 2016 , and Michelle Bolsonaro has been her successor since January 1, 2019 .

Controversy

It appears rarely in public, but is used by feminists and others. a. because of her consumer behavior and the image she gives of herself as a supposedly female role model. She sees her role as a mother and housewife. In the Criança Feliz (for example Happy Child ) charity program for toddlers, she only appears as an external ambassador.
