Marco Calderini

Marco Calderini (born July 20, 1850 in Turin , † February 26, 1941 ibid) was an Italian painter and writer .

Live and act

Immediately after finishing school, Calderini became a student at the Accademia Albertina (Turin) in 1867 ; u. a. He studied with Antonio Fontanesi , Enrico Gamba and Andrea Gastaldi . In 1873 he finished his studies there and opened a joint studio with Francesco Mosso (1849–1877).

As early as 1870 he was able to convince both audiences and art critics with his painting “Le rive del Po a Torino”. In addition to oil painting , he was also successful with lithographs . At the 3rd Biennale d'arti di Venezia in 1899, his exhibited works received a special mention from the jury. In 1881 he was appointed to the Commissione Permanente di Belle Arti together with his colleague Domenico Morelli (1826–1901) .

Marco Calderini died at the age of 90 on February 26, 1941 in Turin, where he found his final resting place.
