Marco Runkel

Marco Runkel (born January 28, 1971 in Daaden ) is a German economist and university professor .

career

Runkel studied at the University of Siegen between 1991 and 1996 and graduated with a degree in economics. After a short time as a research assistant in the special research area "Screen Media" of the German Research Foundation , he did his doctorate between 1998 and 2002 in Siegen, before he completed his habilitation at the LMU Munich under Bernd Huber until 2007 . After teaching C1 as a research assistant from 2002 onwards, he was raised to the rank of junior professor in 2006 according to the relevant legal regulations . From 2007 initially a substitute professor at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg , he was appointed full professor the following year. In June 2011 Marco Runkel moved to the TU Berlin .

Runkel's work focuses on international tax law and competition as well as the related issues of public debt . He has also published work on health and environmental policy.
