Marcus Aurelius Marius
Marcus Aurelius Marius († 269 in Augusta Treverorum ( Trier )) was emperor of the Imperium Galliarum .
According to a late tradition, he was a camp blacksmith who rose through the ranks of the Roman army and became an officer. After Postumus's death , he came to power reportedly for two or three days before being killed by a sword of his own making.
The tradition is probably partially or completely wrong. Based on the number of coins he issued, a more correct figure for his reign is at least two or three months.
His successor was Victorinus .
