Marcus Fabius Licinus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marcus Fabius Licinus came from the Roman patrician family of the Fabians and was 246 BC. Chr. Consul .

Life

Marcus Fabius Licinus was probably the son of the consul from 273 BC. BC, Gaius Fabius Dorso Licinus .

Fabius came to the consulate in 246 BC. Together with Manius Otacilius Crassus . The two consuls fought against Carthaginian armies during the First Punic War in Sicily , so that, according to the Capitoline Lent, a dictator , Tiberius Coruncanius , had to be appointed to lead the next consular elections. Apparently, however, they did not succeed against the Punians, as had happened to the consuls of the previous year. Likewise, their successors were similarly unsuccessful.
