from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marcus Junius Homullus was a senator and politician of the Roman Empire and a friend of the Emperor Trajan .

The origin and early career of Marcus Junius Homullus are not known. A military diploma dated November 19, 102, proves that he was 102 together with Lucius Antonius Albus suffect consul ; the two consuls presumably held their office from November 1st until the end of the year. From 113 to 115 he was governor of the Roman province of Cappadocia - Galatia . He belonged to the circle of friends of the emperor Trajan, who, in his place, sent Iunius Homullus' son, who also became a suffect consul and governor of Hispania citerior under Hadrian , to a discussion with the arsakid king Parthamasiris of Greater Armenia .

In addition to his state offices, Marcus Iunius Homullus also held the religious office of pontiff .
