Marcus Munatius Sulla Urbanus
Marcus Munatius Sulla Urbanus was a Roman politician and senator of the 3rd century AD.
Sulla Urbanus was a full consul in 234 together with the later emperor Pupienus .
While the future emperor has always been seen in the colleague of Sulla Urbanus, the name of Sulla Urbanus was only known in fragments from an Ostiens inscription published in 1930 as [Su?] Lla Urbanus . Now two military diplomas have been published, which testify to Marcus Munatius Urbanus as consul. From this it can now be clearly concluded that the full name of Sulla Urbanus Marcus Munatius was Sulla Urbanus . Sulla Urbanus can now also be identified as a son of Marcus Munatius Sulla Cerialis , consul in the year 215, because the time interval between the consulates suggests to see both father and son.
