Marcus Valerius Messalla Corvinus was a Roman politician and senator in the 1st century AD

Messalla Corvinus was a son of Marcus Valerius Messalla Messallinus , consul in the year 20. Before the year 47 he was Quaestor as candidate of the Emperor Claudius in the province of Lycia , where he and his wife Vilia Flacilla were honored with a statue of honor in the city of Limyra . Since the year 47/48 he was a member of the priestly college of the Arval Brothers . In 58 he became consul with Emperor Nero ; from May to June then with Gaius Fonteius Agrippa . Since his family was impoverished, he received an annual donation of 500,000 sesterces from Nero .
