Marcus Zölch (born March 9, 1978 in Augsburg ) is a German marketing manager and actor .

life and career

Zölch grew up in Augsburg and went to the police after school. After a serious accident in 2000 and a stay of several months in hospital, he had to give up his career in the police force.

During this time, the films with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill helped him recover and get back to life. In 2008 the Austrian director Karl-Martin Pold started work on a documentary about Bud Spencer, which Marcus supported as a fan from the start. After changing the concept of the documentary, he became one of the main protagonists of the film in 2011, together with Jorgo Papasoglou from Berlin. After nine years of production, the documentary started in cinemas in 2017 under the name You called him Spencer in Germany and Austria at the same time. It premiered on June 23, 2017 at the Munich Film Festival. On Bud Spencer's birthday on October 31, 2017, there was a performance in Italy as part of the Festa del cinema di Roma.

Through the film, Marcus Zölch gained fame throughout Germany. In September 2017, the television station Kabel eins shot a 30-minute report about him, which was broadcast on the program Abenteuer Leben on September 24, 2017. In this report, the film team accompanied Marcus to Italy , where he visited Bud Spencer's family, Bud Spencer's grave and locations of the famous films. In February 2019 he also worked on the documentary The Terence Hill Story produced by Kabel eins for Terence Hill's 80th birthday .

Over the years Zölch developed a friendly relationship with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer, which led to the fact that he is now in charge of the two actors' official websites and online shops as Marketing Manager. Today he is Terence Hill's right-hand man and advises him on all his appointments away from the camera. In 2018, for the start of the film Mein Name ist Somebody, he organized Terence Hills cinema tour through Germany, Austria and Hungary. In this, Marcus Zölch was also seen in an extra role.
