Marek Rojko (born July 29, 1977 in Bratislava ) is a Slovak volleyball coach.

biography

Rojko himself was active as a professional until an injury to his shoulder ended his career as a player. Subsequently, Doprastav Bratislava trained in his homeland . In 2006 and 2008 he won the national cup with the club. In 2009, Bratislava won the championship and cup double. Rojko also looked after the junior national team of his country from 2009 to 2011 and reached sixth place at the 2010 European Championship and seventh place at the 2011 World Championship. With the club, another cup win in 2011 followed. A year later, Bratislava became champions again. In the MEVZA league, Bratislava reached third place with Rojko in 2011 and 2012. For his achievements, Rojko was named Trainer of the Year four times in a row from 2009 to 2014.

In 2013 the German Bundesliga team signed Rojko as a new coach in Black Aachen . In October 2013 Rojko also took over the coaching position for the Slovak women's national team . In the Bundesliga season 2013/14 he reached the semi-finals in the German championship with the Ladies in Black and thus the greatest success in the club's history. A year later he led the team to the DVV Cup final , which the Ladies in Black lost 3-2 to Allianz MTV Stuttgart , and again to the playoffs. When a series of defeats followed a successful start to the 2015/16 season, Rojko was dismissed as head coach in Aachen on December 28, 2015.

Rojko has been under contract with the Czech first division club VK Královo Pole Brno ( Brno ) since the 2016/17 season .
