Margareta Hürholz

Margareta Hürholz (* 1954 in Bad Münstereifel ) is a German concert organist and professor for artistic organ playing at the University of Music in Cologne.

education

From 1970 to 1978 Margareta Hürholz also received her basic musical training from Peter Neumann (organ) and Karin Merle (piano) at the Cologne University of Music . This was followed by studies in Paris with Marie-Claire Alain , church music studies and training as a breathing teacher in Munich, as well as participation in numerous master courses in Europe.

Concert and teaching activities

National and international awards initiated a worldwide concert activity. The artist's repertoire includes works from all eras. Her duo with Markus Stockhausen became known in the field of new music. As the custodian of the Ahrend organ at the Ursuline Church (Cologne), she initiated the “May concerts in Cologne” in 2003. She is a juror at international organ competitions.

Hürholz has been a professor at the Cologne University of Music since 1997.
