The Margaret Tanner Park is a park in the north of Nuremberg . It is located between Groland-, Uhland- and Kobergerstraße; diagonally across from the Uhland School.

designation

After a renewal of the green area initiated by the local SPD association , the latter suggested giving it a name. Since the so-called asylum for the blind was next to it until 1978, a person should be elected to represent this asylum. A request was therefore sent to its successor organization, today's school for the visually impaired in Langwasser , regarding a proposed name. This was suggested by the founder of the asylum for the blind, Margarete Tanner. As a result, the local SPD association submitted an application to the city council to name the park after Margarete Tanner. After acceptance of the application, the nomination took place in early 2018.
