Margarete Jahrmann (born June 21, 1967 in Pinkafeld ) is an Austrian media artist and art theorist.

biography

Jahrmann studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna . First she received a teaching position for programming languages ​​at this university. In 1999 she was visiting professor for hybrid media at the Art University Linz . From 2000 to 2006 she taught as a lecturer in the New Media department at the University of Art and Design in Zurich . In 2011 she received her PhD from the Planetary Collegium of Plymouth University for her dissertation " Ludics for a Ludic Society" .

Since September 2006 she has been a lecturer in the IAD (Interaction Design) specialization in the Game Design program at the University of Art and Design in Zurich.

As an artist, she is primarily active in the field of media art . Among other things, she is a co-founder of the art server konsum.net and is involved in numerous network and 3D game projects.
