The Marguerite Route is a holiday route leading through all of Denmark . There are around 1,000 cultural sights and natural beauties on the approx. 3,600 km long route. The daisy route is signposted with a daisy flower on a brown background.

The street was initiated on the occasion of the 50th birthday of the Danish Queen Margrethe II in 1990 and was ceremoniously opened by her on April 21, 1991. In 2011, the route was corrected in 21 municipalities.

The initial route was determined by the tourist board Turismens Fællesråd . In 2008, the umbrella organization Friluftsrådet proposed an update of the route to include outdoor activities such as nature sports , hiking and cycling trails . The tourist information office VisitDenmark , the road authority Vejdirektoratet , the nature authority Naturstyrelsen and numerous municipalities were involved in the project “Marguerite Route in the 21st Century” .

The Danish mobile app "Margueritruten" has been available for iOS and Android since 2011 .
