Margherita Bagni

Margherita Bagni (actually Margherita Maria Bagna ; born February 21, 1902 in Turin , † July 2, 1960 in Rome ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Bagni came on stage early as the daughter of the drama actor Ambrogio Bagni and his wife Ines Cristina; she began in the ensemble of Ermete Zacconi and was soon entrusted with leading roles. In 1923 she married her colleague Renzo Ricci and played alongside Maria Melato ; With her husband she founded the Ricci / Bagni formation in 1925, which Zacconi directed. From 1928 to 1930 she played for Annibale Beltrone , then again with her husband. During the 1930s she was a member of several of the most prestigious ensembles and performed alongside Elsa Merlini , Ruggero Ruggeri , Gualtiero Tumiati and again and again Zacconi. Until the end of the war, engagements as character actress with Camillo Pilotto , Luigi Cimara , Luigi Almirante and again Zacconi followed.

Bagni had already worked for the cinema during the silent film era when she played in Gli spettri in 1917 ; her true cinema career, however, began in the second half of the 1930s when she shone in colored characterizations. Until the end of her life she played in dramas and from 1956 also in successful television productions by Mario Landi ( Cime tempestose ), Anton Giulio Majano ( Jane Eyre ) and Daniele D'Anza ( Orgoglio e pregiudizio ). Bagni also found work as a voice actress.

Bagni and Ricci's daughter Nora Ricci was also an actress and the first wife of Vittorio Gassman .
