Margrit Weimeister

Margrit Weimeister (born February 5, 1933 in Zerbst ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 1994 she was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Education and life

Margrit Weimeister attended girls' secondary school in Zerbst from 1939 to 1947. From 1947 to 1950 she was an apprentice in her parents' farm and passed her professional qualification. In 1963 she continued her education through adult education and graduated as an agricultural clerk and became an agricultural engineer in Wernigerode in 1971. In 1973 she acquired the degree of specialist engineer in business administration. From 1953 to 1960 she worked as a farmer in the family business. In 1960 she had to join the LPG in the course of collectivization and from 1967 to 1990 she was employed by VEB Tierzucht. There she was a performance auditor in Magdeburg from 1967 to 1977, from 1977 animal breeding instructor, cattle breeder and from 1985 branch manager AS Zerbst.

Margrit Weimeister, who is of Protestant denomination, is married and has three children.

politics

Margrit Weimeister was non-party until 1990. After the fall of the Wall she became a member of the CDU in March 1990. In the first free local elections in May 1990, she won a mandate in the district council and was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. She was elected directly to the state parliament in the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 in the state electoral district of Zerbst - Köthen II (WK 23).
