Maria-Brunn
The Catholic chapel Maria-Brunn is a listed church building in Vreden in the district of Borken ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The octagonal, plastered brick building with corner blocks was donated in 1697 by the Vredener canon Johann Bernhard Abbing. The curved roof is crowned with a lantern . The building was formerly cross-shaped, around 1900 three of the four extensions were demolished. The oval glass window showing medallions of the Apostles and the inscription cartouche two countesses of Manderscheidt-Blankenheim called 1699. The pulpit and the tabernacle are well work is of Gerdt Elsbeck from the period 1704 to 1715. In a niche with a carved Blattwerkrahmung a Pietà from Baumberger sandstone, it is a work by Johann Mauritz Gröninger from 1697.
